  2. Fill the removable water tank with fresh, cold water. Do not exceed the MAX line.
  3. Insert the water tank firmly into the back of the machine.
  4. Place the empty portafilter into the group head and turn clockwise to secure.
  5. Place a cup under the portafilter and the drip tray in its position.
  6. Plug the power cord into a grounded 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Ensure the machine is unplugged during initial setup. Keep away from water sources and edges of countertops.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, perform an initial water flush to clean the internal system.

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is plugged in.
  2. Turn the power switch to the ON position. The indicator light will illuminate.

Specifications

Controls and Functions

Main control panel includes Power Switch, Brew Button, and Steam/Hot Water Knob.

Power Switch: Turns the main heating system on and off. Indicator light shows power status.

Brew Button: Activates the pump to brew espresso. Press once to start, press again to stop.

Steam/Hot Water Knob: Turn clockwise to open the steam valve for frothing. Turn counter-clockwise for hot water dispensing.

Pressure Gauge: Needle should be in the "espresso range" (typically 9-11 bar) during optimal extraction.

Portafilter: Lock into group head by aligning and turning right until firm. Remove by turning left.

Brewing Guide

For best results, use freshly ground espresso coffee.

  1. Preheat: Turn machine on and allow to heat fully. Run a short water flush through the group head.
  2. Grind & Dose: Grind coffee to a fine espresso consistency. Dose approximately 7g for a single shot or 14g for a double shot into the appropriate filter basket.
  3. Tamp: Use the tamper to press the grounds firmly and evenly.
  4. Brew: Lock the portafilter into the group head. Place a pre-warmed cup underneath. Press the brew button. A double shot should extract in 25-30 seconds, yielding about 2 oz of espresso.
  5. Stop: Press the brew button again to stop extraction, or let it run to auto-stop for a preset volume (if equipped).

Tip: The crema (golden foam) on top is a sign of a well-extracted espresso. Adjust grind size, dose, or tamp pressure if extraction is too fast (weak) or too slow (bitter).

Milk Frothing

Creating microfoam for cappuccinos and lattes.

  1. Ensure the machine is heated. Turn the steam knob to release any condensed water from the wand into the drip tray.
  2. Fill a stainless steel pitcher about 1/3 full with cold milk (whole milk froths best).
  3. Submerge the steam wand tip just below the milk surface. Turn the steam knob fully open.
  4. Lower the pitcher slightly to introduce air (a slight tearing sound) for 5-10 seconds to create foam.
  5. Submerge the wand deeper to swirl and heat the milk to 150°F (65°C). Do not boil.
  6. Turn the steam knob closed. Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth and purge it briefly to clear milk residue.
  7. Tap the pitcher on the counter and swirl to incorporate foam, then pour over espresso.

WARNING! The steam wand and heated milk are extremely hot. Always hold the pitcher by the handle and keep hands clear.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures performance and longevity. Always unplug and let the machine cool completely.

Daily: Wipe exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Empty and rinse the drip tray and water tank. Flush the group head with water after final use. Clean the steam wand immediately after each use.

Weekly: Remove and clean the portafilter and filter baskets with warm water and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Backflush the group head using a blind filter and espresso machine cleaner as per instructions.

Descaling: Perform every 2-3 months or as needed, depending on water hardness. Use a descaling solution suitable for espresso machines. Run the solution through the brew system and steam wand, then flush thoroughly with clean water.

CAUTION! Never immerse the main unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
