Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the unit.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and scoop with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Power on coffee maker; follow control panel prompts.

  1. Set clock: Press and hold PROGRAM, then use HOUR/MINUTE buttons to set time.
  2. Prime the system: Fill reservoir with water, place empty carafe, press BREW to run water through once.
  3. Install filter: Place gold-tone filter or paper filter in filter basket.
  4. Set auto shut-off: Press PROGRAM, then AUTO OFF to select duration (0-4 hours).

CAUTION! Ensure carafe is properly seated before brewing to prevent spills.

Access functions via control panel buttons. Front Panel: POWER, PROGRAM, HOUR, MINUTE, BREW STRENGTH, AUTO OFF.

Indicator Lights: POWER (green), PROGRAM (orange), AUTO OFF (red).

Clock Setting: Hold PROGRAM, adjust HOUR/MINUTE. Auto Shut-Off: Press AUTO OFF to cycle through 0, 2, or 4 hours. Brew Strength: Press BREW STRENGTH to toggle between regular and bold. Programming Brew Start: Set clock, press PROGRAM, set brew time with HOUR/MINUTE, press PROGRAM again to confirm.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Empty and rinse carafe and filter basket. Weekly: Descale with vinegar solution (run through brew cycle).

  1. Unplug unit and allow to cool.
  2. Clean exterior with damp cloth; never use abrasive cleaners.
  3. Replace charcoal water filter every 60 cycles or 2 months.
  4. Descale monthly if using hard water: Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, run through brew cycle, then run 2 cycles of clean water.

Tip: Always empty carafe after use to maintain coffee flavor.

Programming & Operation

Supports manual brew and programmed start.

  1. Manual Brew: Add water and coffee, press POWER, then BREW.
  2. Programmed Brew: Set clock, press PROGRAM, set brew time, add water and coffee, press POWER (unit will brew at set time).
  3. Pause & Serve: Press PAUSE during brew cycle to pour coffee; release to continue brewing.
  4. Brew Strength: Select REGULAR or BOLD before starting brew.
  5. Auto Shut-Off: Unit turns off 0-4 hours after brewing (select via AUTO OFF).
  6. Ready Tone: Sounds when brewing completes (can be disabled in some models).

WARNING! Do not remove carafe during brewing except when using pause & serve feature.

Care Instructions

Unplug before cleaning. Use only mild detergent on exterior. Do not use steel wool or abrasive pads.

CAUTION! Never immerse base in water. Avoid using near sink or wet surfaces.
