Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all components. Place on a stable, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Fill water reservoir with fresh, cold water and reinsert.
  3. Plug power cord into a grounded 120V outlet.
  4. Turn machine on; allow to heat up (approx. 30 seconds).
  5. Run water through group head and steam wand to prime system.

WARNING! Ensure machine is unplugged during initial setup. Keep away from water sources.

Grinding Coffee

Use fresh, whole bean coffee for best results.

  1. Fill bean hopper with desired amount of beans.
  2. Adjust grind dial to appropriate setting (fine for espresso).
  3. Place portafilter under grinder outlet.
  4. Press and hold portafilter against grinder activation switch.
  5. Grind until portafilter is filled (approx. 18g for double shot).
  6. Tamp grounds evenly with 30 lbs pressure.

Tip: Clean grinder regularly to prevent oil buildup from stale beans.

Brewing Espresso

Ensure machine is heated and ready (orange light on).

  1. Insert portafilter into group head and turn firmly to lock.
  2. Place pre-warmed cup under portafilter.
  3. Press single or double shot button to start extraction.
  4. Shot should extract in 25-30 seconds for optimal flavor.
  5. Press button again to stop extraction if using manual mode.

Note: First few shots may be weak; this is normal during initial use.

Frothing Milk

Use cold milk (whole milk froths best) in a stainless steel pitcher.

  1. Turn steam knob to open steam wand.
  2. Purge wand for 2-3 seconds to clear condensation.
  3. Submerge wand tip just below milk surface.
  4. Turn knob fully open; position pitcher to create vortex.
  5. Froth until milk reaches 150°F (too hot to touch).
  6. Turn knob to close; wipe wand immediately with damp cloth.

CAUTION! Steam wand gets extremely hot; always use caution.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Clean portafilter, drip tray, and steam wand after each use. Weekly: Backflush with cleaning tablet (if applicable). Monthly: Descale using Cuisinart descaling solution.

Cleaning Steps:

  1. Unplug machine and allow to cool completely.
  2. Remove and clean drip tray, water reservoir.
  3. Wipe housing with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  4. Run descaling solution through system as per instructions.

WARNING! Never immerse machine in water. Use only approved cleaning products.
