Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe, filter basket, and water reservoir.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir (soak filter first for 15 minutes).
  4. Fill water reservoir with cold water to the desired cup level (up to 14 cups).
  5. Plug power cord into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Ensure hands are dry when handling.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, run a cleaning cycle to remove any manufacturing residues.

  1. Fill water reservoir to the MAX line with cold water.
  2. Place an empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Press the CLEAN button. The CLEAN light will illuminate.
  4. Press the ON/AUTO OFF button to start the cleaning cycle.
  5. After cycle completes, discard water from carafe. Rinse carafe.
  6. Your coffee maker is now ready for brewing.

CAUTION! Use only cold water. Do not use without the charcoal filter installed.

Basic Functions: Press ON/AUTO OFF to start immediate brew. Use PROGRAM, HOUR, MIN to set delayed brew time. Press 1-4 CUP when brewing less than 5 cups. STRENGTH selects Regular or Bold brew. CLEAN initiates cleaning cycle. Auto Shut-Off can be set from 0 to 4 hours.

Programming & Brewing

For immediate brewing: Add water, insert filter with coffee, place carafe, press ON/AUTO OFF.

  1. Delayed Brew: Press PROGRAM. Use HOUR and MIN to set desired brew time. Press PROGRAM again to confirm. The PROGRAM light will glow.
  2. Brew Strength: Press STRENGTH to toggle between Regular and Bold before starting brew.
  3. 1-4 Cup Setting: Press the 1-4 CUP button before brewing 1 to 4 cups for optimal flavor.
  4. Brew Pause: During brew cycle, lift carafe to pause. Replace to continue brewing.
  5. Auto Shut-Off: Hold ON/AUTO OFF for 3 seconds to cycle through 0, 2, or 4-hour auto-off settings.

Tip: Use 1 level tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. For Bold strength, use more coffee.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Daily: Empty and rinse carafe and filter basket. Wipe exterior with damp cloth.

  1. Cleaning Cycle: Run monthly or as needed. Press CLEAN, then ON/AUTO OFF with water only (no coffee).
  2. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 brew cycles or every 2 months. Soak new filter 15 minutes before installing.
  3. Permanent Filter: Clean with warm, soapy water after each use. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  4. Exterior: Unplug and wipe with soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaners.

CAUTION! Never immerse base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.

Descaling

Descale when DESCAL light illuminates or every 3-6 months to remove mineral deposits.

  1. Fill water reservoir to MAX with a mixture of half white vinegar and half water.
  2. Place an empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Press ON/AUTO OFF to start a brew cycle (without coffee).
  4. Halfway through, turn off and let solution sit in reservoir for 30 minutes.
  5. Complete the brewing cycle. Discard vinegar solution.
  6. Run 2-3 cycles with clean water only to rinse.
  7. Press and hold CLEAN button for 3 seconds to reset descale indicator.

WARNING! Do not use descaling solutions other than vinegar/water. Ensure thorough rinsing.
