Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the coffee maker.
  2. Wash the carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the filter holder (soak filter first if required).
  4. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  5. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the coffee maker base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure the unit is on a stable surface away from edges.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, run a brewing cycle with water only to clean the interior.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the 14-cup mark.
  2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the cleaning cycle.
  4. Discard the water from the carafe after the cycle completes.
  5. Set the clock: Press and hold the CLOCK button, then use HOUR and MIN buttons to set the time.

CAUTION! The warming plate and carafe will be hot after brewing. Use handles when moving the carafe.

Brewing Coffee

Follow these steps for optimal coffee brewing.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with cold water to desired cup level.
  2. Insert the permanent filter into the filter basket.
  3. Add medium-ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup, adjust to taste).
  4. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  5. Press ON/OFF to start brewing immediately, or set PROGRAM for delayed brew.
  6. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup mid-cycle (replace carafe within 30 seconds).
  7. When brewing completes, the auto shut-off will turn off the warming plate after the set time.

Tip: For best results, use fresh, cold water and clean the unit regularly.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Wash carafe, lid, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Monthly: Descale the coffee maker using a vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). Run a brewing cycle with the solution, then run two cycles with clean water.
  3. Charcoal Filter: Replace every 60 days or after 60 uses, or as indicated by water hardness.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Unplug the unit before cleaning. Never immerse the base in water.
