Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the coffeemaker.
  2. Wash carafe, permanent filter, and charcoal filter holder with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into holder and soak in cold water for 15 minutes. Rinse under cold water for 1 minute.
  4. Place filter holder into opening at bottom of water reservoir.
  5. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  6. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Ensure coffeemaker is unplugged during cleaning and installation. Do not immerse base in water.

First-Time Setup

Power on coffeemaker; set clock and prepare for first brew.

  1. Set the Clock: Press and hold CLOCK button. Use HOUR and MIN buttons to set correct time. Release CLOCK.
  2. Prime the Filter: Fill water reservoir with fresh cold water to MAX line (10 cups). Place empty carafe on warming plate. Press ON/OFF to start a brew cycle without coffee. Discard water.
  3. Set Auto Shut-Off: Press and hold AUTO OFF button. Use HOUR button to select 0, 2, or 4 hours. Release AUTO OFF.
  4. Set Warming Plate Temperature: Press WARM button to toggle between LOW and HIGH warming settings.

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Ensure carafe is properly positioned before brewing.

Brewing Coffee

Supports ground coffee; use medium grind for best results.

  1. Fill Reservoir: Add fresh cold water to desired cup level (1-10).
  2. Add Coffee: Place permanent filter in filter basket. Add ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup).
  3. Brew Now: Place carafe on warming plate. Press ON/OFF to start immediate brewing.
  4. Program Brew: Press PROGRAM. Use HOUR and MIN to set desired brew time. Press PROGRAM again to confirm. "PROG" will display.
  5. Pause & Serve: Press PAUSE during brew cycle to pour coffee. Replace carafe; brewing resumes automatically.
  6. 1-4 Cup Setting: Press 1-4 CUP button before brewing for 1-4 cups to adjust strength and temperature.

WARNING! Do not remove carafe during brewing except with Pause & Serve. Use handle to avoid burns.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Wash carafe and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.

Weekly: Clean exterior with damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Monthly: Replace charcoal water filter (soak new filter 15 min, rinse 1 min).

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse base, cord, or plug in water.

Descaling

Perform every 3-6 months to remove mineral deposits.

  1. Fill reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and water to MAX line.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press ON/OFF to start brew cycle halfway. Turn off and let solution sit in reservoir for 30 minutes.
  4. Complete brew cycle. Discard solution.
  5. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh water only to rinse.

Tip: Use commercial descaling solution as alternative to vinegar.

Care & Storage

Unplug and cool completely before storage. Store in dry place. Wrap cord loosely.

CAUTION! Do not store with water in reservoir. Keep away from heat and moisture.
