Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tape from unit.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, filter basket, and charcoal filter with warm soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder in water reservoir.
  4. Fill water reservoir completely and run a brewing cycle with only water (no coffee) to clean interior.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse base, cord, or plug in water. Keep away from heat sources and edges.

First-Time Use

Set clock and prepare for first brew.

  1. Set clock: Press and hold CLOCK button; use HOUR and MIN to set correct time.
  2. Add beans: Fill bean hopper with fresh coffee beans (max 1/2 lb).
  3. Select grind size: Turn grind selector knob to desired coarseness (1-18).
  4. Add water: Fill reservoir to desired cup level (1-12).
  5. Brew: Press BREW to start immediate grinding and brewing.

CAUTION! Ensure carafe is properly positioned on warming plate before brewing.

Functions: POWER turns unit on/off. CLOCK sets time. TIMER programs auto brew. BREW starts immediate cycle. BREW STRENGTH selects regular or bold. GRIND OFF bypasses grinder for pre-ground coffee. AUTO SHUT-OFF sets delay (0-4 hrs). HOUR/MIN adjust time and programming.

Settings: Grind size (1 fine to 18 coarse), Cup selector (1-12), Brew strength (Regular/Bold), Auto shut-off (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 hours).

Programming the Timer

Set automatic brewing for desired time.

  1. Ensure clock is set correctly.
  2. Fill bean hopper with beans and water reservoir with water.
  3. Press TIMER button; "PROG" appears on display.
  4. Use HOUR and MIN to set desired brew time.
  5. Press TIMER again to confirm; "AUTO" appears.
  6. Unit will automatically grind and brew at set time.

Tip: To cancel programmed brew, press and hold TIMER for 3 seconds until "AUTO" disappears.

Grinding & Brewing

Supports whole bean or pre-ground coffee.

  1. Whole bean: Ensure GRIND OFF is not lit. Select grind size. Press BREW to start grinding and brewing cycle.
  2. Pre-ground: Press GRIND OFF (light turns on). Add ground coffee to filter basket. Press BREW to start brewing only.
  3. Pause & Serve: During brew cycle, lift carafe to pause; replace to continue.
  4. Brew Strength: Press BREW STRENGTH to toggle between Regular and Bold.
  5. Auto Shut-Off: Set delay (0-4 hrs) to keep warming plate on after brewing.

WARNING! Never remove bean hopper lid during grinding. Keep hands away from grinder area.

Maintenance Features

Charcoal Water Filter: Replace every 60 cycles or 2 months for optimal performance. Grinder Cleaning: Use dry brush to clean burrs periodically. Descaling: Run vinegar solution through brewing cycle monthly if using hard water.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug and cool before cleaning. Wash removable parts in warm soapy water; wipe exterior with damp cloth.

  1. Carafe and lid: Hand wash only; not dishwasher safe.
  2. Filter basket: Remove and clean after each use.
  3. Bean hopper: Empty and wipe clean; do not immerse.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with soft damp cloth; no abrasive cleaners.
  5. Descale: Monthly with vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).

CAUTION! Do not use harsh chemicals or immerse base in water. Never clean grinder with water.
