Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, stable, and dry surface.

  1. Insert Charcoal Filter: Place filter in the water reservoir holder.
  2. Attach Carafe: Place the empty glass carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Plug into AC power.

WARNING! Do not immerse the coffeemaker, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure the power cord is not damaged.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, clean the coffeemaker by running a brew cycle with water only (no coffee).

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Add fresh, cold water up to the 14-cup mark.
  2. Start Cleaning Cycle: Press the ON/OFF button to begin brewing.
  3. Discard Water: Once cycle is complete, discard the water from the carafe.
  4. Set Clock: Press and hold the CLOCK button, then use HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the correct time.

CAUTION! The warming plate and carafe will be hot after brewing. Handle with care.

Control Panel: ON/OFF, PROGRAM, HOUR, MINUTE, CLOCK, AUTO ON, AUTO OFF, 1-4 CUP.

Programming: Press PROGRAM to set brew time. Use HOUR and MINUTE to adjust. Press AUTO ON to confirm. Auto Shut-Off: Press AUTO OFF to set shut-off delay (0-4 hours). 1-4 Cup Setting: Press 1-4 CUP button when brewing small amounts for optimal flavor. Clock: Press and hold CLOCK to set time.

Brewing Coffee

Supports ground coffee; use medium grind for best results.

  1. Prepare Filter: Insert a paper filter or use the permanent gold-tone filter.
  2. Add Coffee: Add ground coffee to the filter (1 tablespoon per cup).
  3. Add Water: Fill the water reservoir with cold water to desired cup level.
  4. Brew: Press ON/OFF to start brewing immediately. For programmed brew, ensure AUTO ON is set.
  5. Pause & Serve: Use Brew Pause & Serve feature to pour a cup during brewing.
  6. Auto Shut-Off: Coffeemaker will turn off automatically after brewing (based on AUTO OFF setting).

WARNING! Do not remove the carafe while brewing is in progress unless using the Brew Pause & Serve feature.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Clean carafe, filter basket, and warming plate regularly.

  1. Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Carafe: Wash with warm, soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Decalcification: Run a vinegar solution through the brew cycle every 3-6 months to remove mineral deposits.
  4. Filter Replacement: Replace the charcoal water filter every 2 months or after 60 brew cycles.

CAUTION! Never immerse the coffeemaker base in water. Do not use harsh chemicals.
