Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Insert Charcoal Water Filter: Rinse filter, insert into filter holder in water reservoir.
  2. Install Permanent Filter: Place gold-tone filter into the filter basket.
  3. Fill Water Reservoir: Add fresh, cold water up to desired cup level.
  4. Plug into AC power outlet.

WARNING! Ensure the coffeemaker is on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from edges. Keep cord away from hot surfaces.

First-Time Setup

Plug in the coffeemaker; the LCD display will illuminate.

  1. Set the Clock: Press and hold the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the current time.
  2. Prime the Water Filter: Run a cycle of plain water (without coffee) through the coffeemaker to activate the charcoal filter.
  3. Program Brew Time: Use the PROGRAM button to set a future brew time.
  4. Select Brew Strength: Use the BREW STRENGTH button to choose Regular or Bold.

CAUTION! Do not use the coffeemaker without water. Always ensure the carafe is properly positioned before brewing.

Brewing Coffee

Supports ground coffee; use the permanent filter.

  1. Add Coffee: Place desired amount of ground coffee into the permanent filter.
  2. Add Water: Fill reservoir with cold water to desired cup level.
  3. Brew Immediately: Place carafe on warming plate, press ON/OFF to start brewing.
  4. Programmed Brew: Set PROGRAM time; coffeemaker will start automatically.
  5. Pause & Serve: The carafe allows you to pause brewing to pour a cup mid-cycle.
  6. Auto Shut-Off: The heating element turns off automatically after brewing.

WARNING! Never remove the carafe while brewing is in progress. Hot liquid may spill.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug and allow to cool before cleaning. Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Clean carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse charcoal water filter monthly; replace every 60 uses or 2 months.

CAUTION! Do not immerse coffeemaker base, cord, or plug in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
