Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the coffeemaker.
  2. Wash the carafe, filter basket, and charcoal water filter holder with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the holder and soak it in cold water for 5 minutes. Rinse under cold water for 1 minute.
  4. Place the filter holder into the water reservoir at the back of the unit.
  5. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the coffeemaker base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure the carafe is properly seated on the warming plate.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, perform a cleaning cycle to prepare the coffeemaker.

  1. Fill the water reservoir to the MAX line with fresh, cold water. Do not add coffee grounds.
  2. Place a paper filter in the filter basket and close the lid.
  3. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  4. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the coffeemaker, then press and hold the CLEAN button for 3 seconds to start the cleaning cycle.
  5. After the cycle completes, discard the water from the carafe. The coffeemaker is now ready for programming and brewing.
  6. Set the clock: Press and hold the HOUR and MIN buttons to set the current time.

CAUTION! The warming plate and carafe will be hot after use. Handle with care.

Controls and Settings

Access all functions via the front control panel with LCD display.

Buttons: ON/OFF, PROGRAM, HOUR, MIN, TEMP SELECT, 1-4 CUP, AUTO OFF, CLEAN, BREW PAUSE.

Programming: Use PROGRAM, HOUR, and MIN to set brew time. The LCD shows clock, program status, and selected temperature.

Temperature Selection: Press TEMP SELECT to cycle through 185°F, 190°F, 195°F, 200°F, and 205°F. A light indicates the selected temperature.

1-4 Cup Setting: Press this button before brewing 1 to 4 cups for optimized flavor and temperature.

Auto Shut-Off: Press AUTO OFF to set the duration (0-4 hours) the coffeemaker stays on after brewing completes.

Brewing Coffee

For best results, use fresh, cold water and freshly ground coffee.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with desired amount of cold water, using the cup markings as a guide.
  2. Place a paper filter or permanent filter in the filter basket.
  3. Add coffee grounds: Use 1 tablespoon per cup (6 oz) or adjust to taste.
  4. Close the filter basket lid securely.
  5. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  6. Select brewing temperature (optional) by pressing TEMP SELECT.
  7. For 1-4 cups, press the 1-4 CUP button.
  8. Press ON/OFF to start brewing immediately. For delayed brewing, press PROGRAM and set the brew time first.
  9. During brewing, you can press BREW PAUSE to pour a cup before brewing finishes.
  10. When brewing is complete, an audible signal will sound. The warming plate will keep coffee hot based on the AUTO OFF setting.

Tip: For optimal flavor, brew at 200°F for most coffees. Use 205°F for dark roasts.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures best performance and longevity.

Daily: Discard used grounds and rinse filter basket and carafe. Wipe exterior with a damp cloth.

Weekly/Monthly:

  1. Run a cleaning cycle: Fill reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and water to MAX line. Run a brew cycle without coffee. Discard vinegar solution.
  2. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh water only to rinse.
  3. Replace the charcoal water filter every 60 brew cycles or 2 months for best water quality.

Descaling: If mineral deposits build up (hard water areas), use a commercial descaling solution following its instructions, then rinse thoroughly with water cycles.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the base in water.
