Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Install charcoal filter: Rinse filter, insert into filter holder in water reservoir.
  2. Prepare carafe: Wash carafe and lid with warm, soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Fill water reservoir: Use fresh, cold water; do not exceed MAX line.
  4. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Keep cord away from heated surfaces. Ensure coffeemaker is on stable surface to prevent tipping.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, run a cleaning cycle with water only.

  1. Set clock: Press CLOCK, use HOUR/MIN to set time, press CLOCK again.
  2. Clean cycle: Fill reservoir with water, place empty carafe, press ON/OFF to brew.
  3. Insert filter: Place paper filter or permanent filter in basket.
  4. Add coffee: Use 1 tablespoon ground coffee per cup (6 oz).
  5. Brew: Press ON/OFF to start immediate brewing.

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Ensure carafe is properly positioned.

  4. Prepare coffeemaker: Add water and coffee grounds the night before.
  5. Coffeemaker will automatically start at programmed time.

Tip: To cancel program, press and hold PROGRAM for 3 seconds.

Brewing Guide

For best results:

  1. Use fresh, cold water and quality coffee beans.
  2. Grind beans just before brewing for maximum freshness.
  3. Use correct coffee-to-water ratio: 1 tablespoon per 6 oz cup.
  4. For 1-4 cups: Press 1-4 CUP button before brewing for optimized flavor.
  5. Brew Pause: Allows serving coffee before cycle completes; replace carafe immediately.
  6. When brewing completes, audible alert sounds; auto-off timer begins.

WARNING! Never remove carafe while brewing unless using Brew Pause feature.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Daily: Empty and rinse carafe and filter basket.
  2. Weekly: Clean carafe with vinegar solution to remove coffee oils.
  3. Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water).
  4. Filter replacement: Change charcoal water filter every 60 days or after 60 uses.
  5. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not immerse in water.
