Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from inside and outside the coffeemaker.
  2. Insert charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir.
  3. Place the permanent gold-tone filter into the filter basket.
  4. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse coffeemaker, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure the power outlet is easily accessible.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, clean the coffeemaker by running a brewing cycle with water only.

  1. Fill water reservoir to the 5-cup mark with fresh cold water.
  2. Place empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Press the ON/OFF button to start the cleaning cycle.
  4. Discard the water after the cycle is complete.
  5. Set the digital clock by pressing the CLOCK button and using HOUR/MIN buttons.

CAUTION! Handle carafe with care; it is made of glass and can break if dropped.

Programming: Press PROGRAM, then use HOUR/MIN to set desired brew time. Press PROGRAM again to confirm. The clock will display the programmed time and "PROG" indicator.

Brewing Coffee

For best results, use fresh cold water and medium grind coffee.

  1. Fill water reservoir to desired cup level (1-5 cups).
  2. Add coffee grounds to the permanent filter (1 tablespoon per cup).
  3. Place carafe on warming plate.
  4. For immediate brewing: Press ON/OFF.
  5. For programmed brewing: Set program time as described above.
  6. Use brew pause feature to pour a cup before cycle finishes.
  7. After brewing, auto shut-off will turn off warming plate after 30 minutes.

Tip: Replace charcoal water filter every 60 cycles or 2 months for optimal performance.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Unplug and cool completely before cleaning.

  1. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Carafe and filter basket: Wash with warm soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Descale monthly: Mix equal parts white vinegar and water; run brewing cycle, then run 2 cycles with clean water.
  4. Charcoal filter: Replace every 60 cycles or as needed.

CAUTION! Never immerse coffeemaker base in water. Do not use harsh chemicals.
