Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from carafe, filter basket, and interior.
  2. Wash carafe, filter basket, and permanent filter with warm soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into filter holder (soak filter 15 minutes first).
  4. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Keep cord away from hot surfaces. Do not immerse coffee maker in water.

First-Time Use

Before first brew, run cleaning cycle to remove manufacturing residues.

  1. Fill water reservoir to MAX line with clean water.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press ON/OFF to power on; LCD will display time.
  4. Set clock: Hold CLOCK button, use HOUR/MIN to set time.
  5. Run cleaning cycle: Follow instructions in Cleaning section.

CAUTION! Do not use without water. Ensure carafe is properly positioned.

Programming Instructions

To program automatic brewing:

  1. Ensure coffee maker is ON and clock is set correctly.
  2. Press PROGRAM; "PROGRAM" appears on display.
  3. Use HOUR and MIN to set desired brew start time.
  4. Add coffee and water; ensure carafe is in place.
  5. Press PROGRAM again to confirm; "PROGRAM" remains lit.
  6. To cancel program, press and hold PROGRAM until "PROGRAM" disappears.

Tip: Program the night before for morning coffee.

Brewing Coffee

For manual brewing:

  1. Fill water reservoir with desired amount of water (MIN 2 cups, MAX 14 cups).
  2. Place permanent filter in filter basket; add ground coffee (1 scoop per cup).
  3. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  4. Press ON/OFF to start brewing.
  5. Use BREW PAUSE to pour a cup during brewing (wait 5-10 seconds after pause).
  6. When brewing completes, auto-shutoff will engage after set time.

WARNING! Do not remove carafe during brewing except during Brew Pause. Hot steam may cause burns.

Care & Maintenance

Daily: Empty and rinse carafe; wipe exterior with damp cloth.

Weekly: Clean filter basket and permanent filter with soapy water.

Monthly: Descale with vinegar solution:

  1. Fill reservoir with equal parts vinegar and water to MAX.
  2. Place empty carafe on warming plate.
  3. Press CLEAN; cleaning cycle will run (approx. 30 minutes).
  4. Rinse by running 2 cycles with clean water only.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse in water.
