Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a clean, dry, level surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers from carafe, basket, and unit.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and brew basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  3. Insert the charcoal water filter into the filter holder in the water reservoir.
  4. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate, ensuring it is properly aligned.
  5. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

WARNING! Do not immerse the coffee maker base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Ensure the carafe is securely placed before brewing.

First-Time Setup

Power on the coffee maker; the LCD will illuminate.

  1. Set the clock: Press and hold the CLOCK button, then use HOUR and MIN buttons to set the correct time.
  2. Prime the water filter: Fill the reservoir with cold water and run a brew cycle without coffee to activate the filter.
  3. Program auto brew (optional): Press PROGRAM, set the desired brew time using HOUR/MIN, then press PROGRAM again to confirm.
  4. Select brew strength: Use the STRENGTH button to toggle between REGULAR and BOLD.
  5. Set auto shut-off: Press the AUTO OFF button to select 0, 2, or 4 hours.

CAUTION! Use only cold, fresh water. Do not use distilled or mineral water. Ensure the carafe lid is securely closed before brewing.

Brewing Coffee

For best results, use fresh, cold water and freshly ground coffee.

  1. Fill the water reservoir with desired amount of cold water.
  2. Place a #4 paper filter or the permanent filter into the brew basket.
  3. Add ground coffee: Use 1 tablespoon per cup (or adjust to taste).
  4. Close the brew basket lid and ensure the carafe is properly positioned.
  5. Press BREW to start immediate brewing, or wait for programmed time.
  6. During brewing, you may press BREW PAUSE to pour a cup, then release to continue.
  7. When brewing is complete, an audible signal will sound. The auto shut-off timer begins.

Tip: For 1-4 cups, use the CUP SELECTOR setting for optimal flavor extraction.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and coffee flavor.

  1. Daily: Empty and rinse carafe and brew basket after each use.
  2. Weekly: Wash carafe, lid, and brew basket with warm, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  3. Monthly: Clean the water reservoir by wiping with a damp cloth. Replace charcoal water filter every 60 cycles.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Never use harsh chemicals or abrasives.

WARNING! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse the base in water.

Descaling

Mineral buildup from hard water can affect performance. The CLEAN light will illuminate when descaling is needed.

  1. Fill reservoir with a mixture of half white vinegar and half water.
  2. Place an empty paper filter in the brew basket and ensure the carafe is in place.
  3. Press and hold the CLEAN button for 3 seconds. The CLEAN light will blink.
  4. Press BREW to start the descaling cycle. Half the solution will brew through.
  5. Let the unit sit for 30 minutes, then press BREW to complete the cycle.
  6. Run 2-3 cycles of clean water only to rinse the system thoroughly.

CAUTION! Do not use descaling solutions other than vinegar. Ensure proper rinsing to remove vinegar taste.

Care & Storage

Unplug and allow to cool completely before storing. Store in a dry place. Do not wrap the cord tightly around the base.

CAUTION! Do not store with water in the reservoir. Keep away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
